Hello,
It's been a wonderful and productive weekend here in our home. But more on that later.... Today we are focusing on small details that make a difference in a home. Since my husband and I are newly married and pretty young, we run on a tight budget. I tend to use Goodwill and the dollar store as staples in our decor. Here are a few projects that I've worked on lately.
1.
This Spring, I saw tall vases full of flowers at Target and decided I wanted hat look. But I was not willing to pay the price they were asking for that look (about $30). So last month, when my husband found this vase at Goodwill, I was thrilled. Since we went on the 1st Saturday of the month, the vase was only $5. I bought the grasses, flowers, and stones at the local dollar store. I spent about $7 on these items, for a total cost of $12 for this arrangement next to our fireplace.
2.
I am a candle lover, so candles are used throughout our home to add a bit of warmth and color. We were given this brown charger from my aunt for Christmas this past year, complete with a set of metallic candles. It looked great, but I burned the candles as long as possible, and now they are burned out. So I bought three vanilla scented candles and some more stones from the dollar store and a colored pillar from Marshall's ($4). Total cost for this piece: $8.
Have a wonderful week!
